This famous tour of Trinity Church Cemetery in Upper Manhattan is led by Columbia University Community Scholar Eric K. Washington, a widely known authority on New York City's eventful past that is buried beneath this verdant landscape. Established in 1842, the 24-acre memorial park - originally laid out by James Renwick, Jr., and later improved by Calvert Vaux - forms Manhattan's only still-admitting cemetery, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Please wear sturdy shoes that are suitable for rustic country paths.
